University of Livingstonia (UNILIA) invites applications from candidates to enrol into its Bridging Programme at its Laws Campus. The Programme shall run from 7th September, 2022 to 4th November, 2022.

Successful completion of the Bridging Programme shall lead candidates to enrolment into various degree programmes offered by the University in the January Intake, 2023.

1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidates who have just sat for MSCE and are waiting for their results (Secondary school leavers).
  • An MSCE or IGSCE or GCE ‘O’ level certificates with at least four (4) credit passes;
  • Or an MSCE with a minimum of three (3) credits of not more than 3 points in each plus two (2) strong passes, and with some years of industrial experience in a relevant field;
  • Candidates with six credits and do not qualify for entry in some specific programmes of their choice;
  • The programme is also suitable for those qualifying for enrolment in any University but would want to broaden their knowledge about university education.

2. OUTLINE OF THE BRIDGING PROGRAMME:

The choice of the courses shall be guided by interest in pursuing a programme of one’s choice. Successful applicants shall register in a combination of any four of the courses listed below:

  1. Basic Communication Skills
  2. Mathematics
  3. Information and Communication Technology
  4. Physics
  5. Chemistry
  6. Biology
  7. History
  8. Geography
  9. Social and Development Studies

Admission into a programme of one’s choice shall follow a successful completion of the Bridging Programme and its examinations.

3. MODE OF DELIVERY

The Bridging Programme shall be delivered primarily on full time basis.

 

4. FEES STRUCTURE AND PAYMENT

  • Fees is MK150,000.00 for the entire 8 week duration
  • Candidates are required to deposit fees to the bank and produce the deposit slip during registration.
  • Details of fees payment shall be communicated in admission letters.
  • The University follows a policy of “No Fees, No admission”.
  • The University does not an agent in recruitment of students and payment of fees (i.e. does not use Airtel Money, Mpamba, Mukuru and Hello Paisa).

5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

a. Application forms can be accessed on the University website (Bridging Programme September 2022) and all University offices. Use an application letter where the application forms are not available.

b. Applicants must provide proof of previous education in form of copies of notification of results or stamped letters from previous institutions or certificates.

c. Applicants should pay a non-refundable application fee of MK10,000.00 to the bank account below:

Note:

  1. Students shall be expected to pay directly to outsourced service providers for their food. The collection and determination of catering fees is solely in the hands of the outsourced service providers.
  2. All admitted candidates shall be required to respect and abide by the Christian values as practiced by the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia.
  3. The Council of the UNILIA reserves the right to amend all fees during the course of the academic year.
