University of Livingstonia, Laws Campus View mapThe “Keep Girls in Secondary School” pilot project that was initiated in August is making significant progress. A team has been formed of UNILIA faculty members, Wedson a local chief, two UNILIA students and the deputy head of the Community Day Secondary School. The team has developed a survey to identify issues related to keeping girls in school.
The surveys will be used to lead focus groups of girls and adults at the Livingstonia primary and secondary schools, and in the rural areas of Thunda and Mwanani. Information from the interviews will be analyzed to develop methods to help keep girls in school. UNILIA is supporting the project along with donor seed money. If you would like to contribute to this worthy project, please contact Ken Gentili. Financial help and new IPads are needed. Let’s “Keep Girls in School. It’s their turn now”
